Arizona Cardinals & Phoenix Coyotes Award Grants

Fall Grants Awarded from Phoenix Coyotes & Arizona Cardinals

The Foundation is extremely grateful to the Phoenix Coyotes for awarding $2500 from the team and $5000 from the NHL program to our Patient Services Programs in October. The Phoenix Coyotes were the largest grant benefactor for the foundation programs this yaer and we are proud to be a partner with them.

The Arizona Cardinals for the first time in the history of The Melonhead Foundation awarded a $2500 grant to our Patient Servcies Programs. This is a wonderful addition to our supporters and receiving the doantion in December helped many families during the holiday season which is an especially challenging time for them.

There are never enough words to express our heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters, but we hope you all know how significant you are and what a great impact you make in the lives of families in our community expereincing pediatric cancer.

WANNAHEALYAH WELLNESS CENTER BEGINS

Phase One of Camp Wannahealyah has begun.

The WANNAHEALYAH WELLNESS CENTER manifested on February 1, 2011.

This project has been along time coming and all of us at The Melonhead Foundation are thrilled its time is now. The WANNAHEALYAH WELLNESS CENTER is located at 1840-1844 E. Baseline Rd., Tempe, AZ  85283. The Center will teach and implement natural healing modalities for our Melonhead Patients and their family members. Practitioners will include Naturopathic Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Reiki, Emotional Trauma Release, Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Spritual Response Therapy (SRT), Body Talk, Polarity Balancing, Yoga and more.

The Wellness Center will be self sufficient once it is 100% operational. Currently the space is being renovated and spruced up. Wellness Practitioners will begin see clients on March 1, 2011. The Melonhead Foundation's Wellness protocols and workshops for families will begin sometime after that.

Facilitating healing and wellness protocols through education, support groups and therapies will provide our families with many tools to support their current western protocols. It is our intention that this addition to The Melonhead Foundation's already successful Patient Aid Assistance program will be an effective way to facilitate wellness on a holisitc level. This project focuses on  healing physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

At the present time we are intending for community support with items on our wish list (see below) and like minded practitioners wishing to lease space or donate services for our families.

Thank you to all of our supporters over the years who have held true to this vision. Special thanks to BICSI CARES  and the PHOENIX COYOTES for contributing financial resources to make the WANNAHEALYAH WELLNESS CENTER a reality in 2011.

BICSI CARES & PHOENIX COYOTES SUPPORT WELLNESS CENTER

Camp Wannahealyah is the third and final focus of the Melonhead Foundation. This project has been a vision since 1995 and "in the works" since 2002. Camp Wannahealyah is a project that will teach and implement natural healing for children with cancer and their family members as a compliment to their western protocols. The Melonhead Foundation believes that natural medicine is the way of the future and has been proven to facilitate wellness.

Phase I of Camp Wannahealyah is our Wannahealyah Wellness Center. This program will be self sufficient, providing wellness protocols for our Melonhead Families free of charge. Thanks to the generous financial support from our BICSI Cares donation and the Phoenix Coyotes grant our Tempe, AZ Wannahealyah Wellness Center will become a reality in early 2011.

Stay tuned for more details...they will post as they occur.

We are grateful for the support on all levles.

Phoenix Suns, Thunderbrids & AVNET provide "summer fruit" for Melonhead

Abundant Summer for The Melonhead Foundation

Our thanks and gratitude go out this summer to local Arizona organizations that have benifited The Melonhead Foundation Patient Assitance Program. These funds are used to provide financial support to our Melonhead families for basic needs, medical expenses not covered by insurance and natural healing.

The Phoenix Suns awarded a program grant in the amount of $10,000.

The Phoenix Thunderbirds awarded a program grant of $10,000.

AVNET awarded a program grant of $2,500.

Festival of Lights donated $2000 from funds raised at the Annual Wine Tasting.

The Melonhead Foundation as always is appreciative of the continued support of these local organization for supporting our Arizona families experiencing pediatric cancer. Together we are making a positive difference for families in our community in need of support. We continue to set an example at the leading edge of charitable giving providing a service that is so grossly neglected.
